Tyler S. Clark, Ph.D.
CEO
At the heart of Synclairity Consulting is Dr. Tyler S. Clark — a visionary leader committed to empowering organizations, educational institutions, and nonprofits through research, evaluation, strategic planning, and leadership development.
Dr. Clark is a seasoned expert with over a decade of experience in education, criminal justice, program evaluation, nonprofit leadership, and curriculum innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation (specializing in Program Evaluation) from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, along with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, a B.A. in Psychology, and an M.S. in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Central University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Clark has partnered with a wide range of organizations to lead evidence-based research projects, design impactful educational programs, assess organizational effectiveness, and foster leadership capacity. She is also the founder of J.E.W.E.L.S., Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young women leaders.
Known for her clarity, precision, and heart for service, Dr. Clark is committed to helping clients navigate challenges, make data-informed decisions, and create meaningful, lasting impact.
Mika Hurd
Associate Research and Evaluation Consultant
Mika Hurd is a researcher, sociologist, and author dedicated to exploring educational equity, with a particular focus on marginalized populations. Their current work, which marks their first lead author publication, investigates the experiences of Black Computer Science students in online education, a topic that earned them the Best Paper Award at the RESPECT 2025 conference. Mika’s prior research spans STEM education research and evaluation, particularly in Computer Science, as well as independent projects on poverty and mathematics education, the role of emotion in mobilizing participation in the Black Lives Matter movement, and Perceptions of crime from those with first hand experience.
With dual degrees in Early Childhood Education and Sociology from UMass Amherst, Mika brings a strong foundation in sociological theory and equity-centered research. Their academic and professional path reflects a commitment to understanding how race, LGBTQ+ identities, and systemic inequities shape educational experiences. Mika is passionate about leveraging their sociological insight to foster social change through education.
Known for their thoughtful analysis and engaging approach, Mika is an emerging voice in the field whose work challenges assumptions and advances conversations on race, identity, and justice in education.
Paulo Dembo, ADV
Youth Consultant – Web & Data Initiatives
Paulo Dembo serves as a Junior Research & Web Associate at Synclairity Consulting, LLC. He supports the team with research, data organization, and evaluation projects while also managing and maintaining the firm’s website, ensuring that Synclairity’s work and impact are presented clearly and effectively. As a high-achieving student with experience in engineering, health sciences, and leadership, Paulo brings analytical thinking, creativity, and technical expertise to the team. His work strengthens both Synclairity’s digital presence and its mission to deliver meaningful, equitable insights. Paulo is passionate about using research and technology to improve real-world systems and support communities.
